Marco Silva admitting that Joachim Andersen, Antonee Robinson, Samuel Chukwueze and Rodrigo Muniz are all ruled out from this match at St James’ Park.

Great news for Newcastle United as in my opinion, Robinson and Andersen are not only Fulham’s best defenders, they are their best two players overall. Whilst Muniz is also a big miss for Saturday’s visitors, he scored the winner last season at St James’ Park.

Marco Silva also revealing that Harry Wilson is a big doubt after missing training and that he “will make a decision” on Friday as to whether the Wales international can be in his squad for the trip to Tyneside.

The Fulham boss though did state that both Sasa Lukic and Kenny Tete should be ok to be in Saturday’s matchday squad.

Marco Silva on having Sasa Lukic available against Newcastle United:

“The physicality of the Newcastle United side, they are strong in all positions.

“The battle in the middle will be crucial like last season.

“Sandro Tonali and Joelinton, whoever they have, are solid, compact, aggressive and physical.

“We have to reach the same level of intensity to play in the way we want to play and to control the game.”

Marco Silva asked about the possibility of making it four defeats in a row for Fulham:

“You are already speaking about a defeat for us?

“You mention four defeats, but it can be a defeat, it can be a draw or it can be a win.

“It is a difficult game.

“We lost three in a row, it is true.

“Tough game last time [against Arsenal], the game against Bournemouth we were clearly not at our level.

“Against Aston Villa, apart from ourselves, other things made a massive impact in the game.

“I remember the other things that happen in the games as well that make a massive, massive impact. If things had gone in a different way, because we deserved it, then we would be talking about different results and the position in the table. But it is what it is and we cannot change the result.”
