Real Sociedad endured a bruising night in Seville. Marín and Turrientes left the Pizjuán limping after Matarazzo's side struggled and Sevilla took three points against a team that failed to register a shot on target. The result eased the hosts' position for at least a week.
According to Diario Vasco, Sevilla were robust throughout, typified by Romero's challenge on Gorrotxategi that was not even given as a foul and looked borderline red. The Real squad hurried out of the ground with long faces, several players carrying knocks.
Marín, one of the heroes of the Copa, was in the worst state, leaving with a pronounced limp after a heavy blow to his ankle. He will be assessed and the hope is that it proves to be only a knock.
Turrientes also felt discomfort on the way to the coach, although his limp was less marked. Sergio Gómez, in flip-flops and clutching several recovery drinks, was among the last to emerge.
The team will train on Tuesday at 12:00 in a recovery session, then rest on Wednesday. Two further sessions on Thursday and Friday precede Betis at Anoeta on Saturday at 21:00, a side no longer a direct rival in the table. Whether those carrying knocks can feature remains to be seen, while Guedes should make the date.
