Marlon has completed his recovery and is back in full training with Grêmio after March’s shocking ankle injury. The left-back joined the group without restrictions on Monday.

He was signed off by the medical staff on Friday as the squad prepared to face Mirassol. He had returned to the pitch on Thursday, but contact was still barred.

He can now take part in all drills, with any match return to be assessed by head coach Luís Castro. Caio Paulista and academy prospect Pedro Gabriel are the alternatives.

Four months ago he fractured his right ankle after a challenge against Vitória in the Brasileirão. His foot rotated 90 degrees and he was taken away by ambulance, with television capturing distressed supporters and shocked team-mates Pavon and Monsalve.

Surgery followed the next day, including ligament reconstruction. "The first week after surgery was awful. I was in a cast, in constant pain and could not sleep. I was stressed and irritable, with headaches and a throbbing foot," he told ge in June.

"On the pitch I stayed calm despite the scene. Having had a facial fracture in 2020 in Portugal helped. I even told Weverton and our doctors to relax because I was fine."

Marlon joined Grêmio on loan from Cruzeiro in April 2025, later triggering a 3.5 million dollars purchase, and is contracted until December 2028.
