According to El Correo, Maroan Sannadi and Dani Vivián have picked up minor issues in pre-season and will be assessed. Both were examined on Thursday by the club’s medical staff.

Sannadi featured in the first pre-season friendly against Derio, then left the Portugalete pitch limping after a knock that caused an issue to the proximal tibiofibular joint in his left knee. It does not appear serious. He managed only 15 minutes, coming on at the start of the second half before going off just after the hour.

Vivián did not play. Feeling slight discomfort from the early workload, the defender was left out of the squad as Edin Terzic took a cautious view. The centre-back has an insertional problem in the adductor longus of his right leg.

Both players remain under observation.

Athletic won 0-3 against Derio, with a Navarro brace and a Sancet strike, all created by Djaló. The team face Leioa on Saturday at 19.30 for their second friendly of the summer.
