Marquinhos intends to finish his career at PSG

Marquinhos (31) made his 500th appearance for Paris Saint-Germain against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night. He is – by far – the most long-serving player in this PSG side, and as he told RMC Sport, he has no intention of stopping at 500.

The Brazilian, over the past two summers, has been the subject of transfer speculation. He is coveted by Saudi Arabia, and, especially following the arrival of his supposed successor, Ilia Zabarnyi, there was a thought that Marquinhos was gradually stepping towards the exit door.

Even now, his departure, perhaps next summer, or the summer after, is seen as inevitable, especially given the nature of the new PSG project, which is based on youth. However, the Brazil international is not seeking a departure from the Parc des Princes any time soon, and speaking on Rothen S’enflamme, he said that he “will give everything to stay [at PSG] as long as possible.”

On even remaining with the European champions until the end of his career, he responded, “Honestly, I wouldn’t say no. I don’t know when my career will end. I want to play as long as possible, as much as possible. I will give everything in these colours.”
