Marseille were eliminated from the Champions League after a 0-3 defeat in Bruges. According to L'Équipe, it was the first time in the competition that OM started a match without a single French player.

The exit was sealed in extraordinary circumstances on Wednesday, a goal at 90+8 by Benfica goalkeeper Anatoliy Troubine adding to the collapse and leaving the club stuck in 25th place.
