Olympique de Marseille are interested in Hearts and Scotland U19 defender Alfie Osborne (17), according to a report from Foot Mercato.
Whilst it is unclear in which European competition Marseille will compete next season, the club are already preparing their transfer window. They nonetheless do so without a sporting director. Medhi Benatia will leave, as confirmed by their owner, Frank McCourt, with form AS Monaco and Newcastle United sporting director Paul Mitchell linked with replacing the Moroccan.
Regardless, OM are interested in one of the biggest prospects in Scottish football. Osborne has yet to make his senior debut for Hearts, but he has impressed in the youth set-up, whilst he has also captained Scotland’s U19s side.
His contract with Hearts expires this summer and he is now attracting interest from clubs across Europe, including from Les Phocéens. OM would still have to pay a fee of €220,000, despite the expiring contract, due to his age.
