Marseille set Leonardo Balerdi price tag amid Saudi Arabia interest | OneFootball

Olympique de Marseille captain Leonardo Balerdi (26) is attracting interest from Saudi Arabia, according to a report from Sacha Tavolieri. 

Tavolieri understands that Al-Qadsiah are stepping up their pursuit of the Argentina international and are now planning to have meetings with the player’s representatives. OM are aware of the approach, and whilst they want to retain the defender, a big offer could certainly make Les Phocéens reconsider their current stance.

An offer between €30-40m could potentially convince Marseille to sell, Tavolieri understands. However, OM are not looking to rid themselves of Balerdi, despite the Argentine currently navigating a patch of poor form. 

As captain, he still maintains an important role at the club and is a key player for Roberto De Zerbi. Marseille also have faith that the player can rediscover his best form. This season, Balerdi has played 17 games in all competitions, including starting in three UEFA Champions League encounters.
