Bilal Nadir (20) suffered an ACL injury against Stade Rennais on Sunday and won’t feature for Olympique de Marseille again this season, according to La Provence.
An MRI scan on Monday confirmed what had been suspected. Nadir has suffered an ACL injury, and whilst it isn’t as severe as Amine Harit’s ACL injury last season, the OM academy product will be out for around six months. The Moroccan youth international had only recently made his breakthrough at his formative club and was making just his third start for the first-team when he suffered the injury against Rennes in Sunday’s Coupe de France defeat.
Nadir will not only miss the rest of this season but it is expected that the ACL injury will also disrupt his pre-season preparations too. The injury has come at an inopportune time, with Nadir’s contract with Les Phocéens expiring at the end of the season. Negotiations over a renewal are underway.
