The German striker has been the subject of exit talk for a lengthy period of time

Birmingham City are reportedly still open to the potential sale of German striker, Marvin Ducksch, ahead of next Tuesday's deadline for the summer transfer window.

According to Sky Germany, the 32-year-old remains wanted by clubs in his home country, but he has also rejected offers from sides in the MLS as uncertainty continues to cloud his immediate future.

Birmingham have recently begun their third campaign under the management of Chris Davies, and will be hoping for a stronger performance in this season's Championship after a mixed 2025/26.

The Second City outfit invested heavily in both transfer windows last season, but lacked the consistency required to push for a play-off place, and have since appeared to change their approach in this summer's market.

Only a handful of incomings and outgoings have been sanctioned thus far, whilst on the pitch, a slow start to the league season has been made with draws against Sheffield United and Bristol City.

However, in the first two weeks of the competitive season, Ducksch hasn't been heavily involved whilst there continues to be intense speculation over his next career move, just 12 months after signing from Werder Bremen in a high-profile transfer.

Ducksch, a two-time international for Germany, was one of 14 new additions made to Davies' squad last summer, joining from the Bundesliga side for £1.75m on a three-year contract after a long-standing transfer saga.

However, due to fitness issues, it would take the forward until November 22nd to net his first Birmingham goals in a 4-1 rout over Norwich City at St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park, eventually scoring 11 goals across 36 competitive appearances.

In the latter weeks of the season, though, the striker was linked with clubs in Germany and America, before being involved in a three-way car collision close to Blues' EPIC training facility after an Easter Monday defeat at Ipswich Town, where he was fined over £16,000 and banned from driving for 14 months.

A non-promotion release clause of €1m was then reported to be inserted into his contract, whilst it was also claimed last month that Ducksch wants to take on a sporting director role at a new club, and that Birmingham would not stand in the way of a transfer exit for the forward.

It has now been claimed by Sky Germany that Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga clubs still hold interest in his services, whilst Birmingham could accept an offer as low as €500,000 to aid the conclusion of any potential deal from a financial perspective.

Meanwhile, the report also adds that Ducksch has snubbed offers from Orlando City and Atlanta United.

Similarly to last campaign, Ducksch's pre-season with Birmingham was impacted by injury, meaning his only minutes since were a six-minute cameo against the Robins on Saturday, replacing Stansfield on 84 minutes.

However, whilst being present in his home country for television coverage during the FIFA World Cup, the forward made it fairly clear that he wished to return.

"I’m definitely in talks with several clubs, including some in the Bundesliga. But it’s still relatively early," Ducksch revealed in June.

"But of course, if there’s a club where I’m convinced by the whole concept, then I would definitely like to return to the Bundesliga or to Germany."

Despite putting in some impressive performances in the West Midlands, Ducksch's spell at Blues so far has been one of immensely mixed fortunes, both on and off the pitch.

A swift exit for the striker would also sum up how last summer's transfer window went for Birmingham in terms of mishaps, as they would have made a loss on the deals for himself and Kyogo Furuhashi, who now plies his trade for LA Galaxy.

However, a parting of ways between the club and the player does seem the appropriate course of action at this moment, largely due to the striker's prior comments at the beginning of the transfer window, added to the fact Blues have all of Stansfield, August Priske and Luis Vazquez in front of Ducksch in the pecking order.
