The match officials for Sunday’s Premier League match with Crystal Palace have been announced, with Adam Herczeg set to take charge at Elland Road.

The tie will be the first ever top-flight game officiated by the referee who began overseeing fixtures at the age of 15. Having then gained valuable experience in the National League, the 33-year-old progressed through the pyramid and has featured 34 times in the Sky Bet Championship to date.

So far this term, Herczeg has refereed six encounters, four of which have come in the second tier and two in the EFL Cup. Most recently, he was in the middle at the Riverside for Middlesbrough’s 4-3 victory over Norwich City last weekend.

While this clash will be the first time taking charge of a Whites match at senior level, he did officiate a Premier League 2 victory for our Under-21s in 2022, incidentally against Palace.

Running the touchlines are Timothy Wood and Simon Long with Farai Hallam appointed as Fourth Official. Keeping up with the action from Stockley Park is VAR Paul Tierney and Additional VAR Wade Smith.
