Matthäus defends Olise amid interview criticism: "I don't see any problem" | OneFootball

Ex-Bayern Munich star Lothar Matthäus has defended Michael Olise from criticism over his awkwardness during interviews and unique dress sense. 

“I think he's fine the way he is, because why does he have to talk if he doesn't want to," Matthäus explained, speaking with SPORT1. 

"Just because we want him to [be more open], so that he makes headlines? He doesn't want that; it's just not his nature.

"Someone like me stands in front of the camera and talks, whereas Olise would rather go somewhere after the game where he feels comfortable.

"His comfort zone is probably not the microphone or the camera, but rather the people [teammates] around him.

"And I don't see any problem with that at all. As long as he plays football the way he does, then he can wear whatever he wants.

“He can walk past any microphone he likes, because for me, what he does on the pitch is far more entertaining than interviews,” he added.
