Olympique Lyonnais sporting director Matthieu Louis-Jean has confirmed summer contact over a possible return for Karim Benzema, which did not progress.
According to L'Équipe, OL explored bringing their academy graduate back during the recent window.

On Monday, Louis-Jean said the approach had been made but was ultimately unfeasible.
He explained that contact with Benzema came via an intermediary while the club were searching for a striker.
The move fell through because the Frenchman has a contract with the Saudi League until 2030, despite his departure from Al-Hilal.
