Bayern Munich director of sport Max Eberl says negotiations over Konrad Laimer’s deal have been paused amid high demands from the player.

Bayern want to extend Laimer’s contract and talks have already taken place, but they are currently on hold. There is no resentment, with both sides holding positions that must align, which they do not at present. He also welcomed Laimer’s return to fitness and availability.

Eberl appeared calm about the situation, and an extension is expected in due course.

Laimer has been an important part of Vincent Kompany’s side, registering three goals and four assists in 20 Bundesliga matches this season.

For now, discussions remain paused until the club and player can bring their ideas into line.
