According to RMC Sport, Fiorentina are set to complete a loan move for French midfielder Maxime López (25) from Sassuolo. The loan deal for the former Marseille midfielder also includes a purchase option worth €8m. The midfielder had been a target for Inter Milan before the end of the transfer window but now appears to be joining La Viola instead.
Fiorentina’s signing of Maxime Lopez looks to be a direct replacement for Sofyan Amrabat who looks set to join Manchester United. The Serie A club have agreed terms on a loan deal with an obligation-to-buy for the Moroccan international to join Manchester United.
López signed for Sassuolo for a fee of €2.5m from Marseille in 2021. The Marseille-born midfielder has made 101 appearances for the Italian club to date, scoring 4 goals and assisting a further 2. The Frenchman looks set to continue his time in Italy but in the famous violet shirt of Fiorentina.
