Maximilian Wober is conducting his pre-season away from Leeds United, training at the OFB Campus in Seestadt under former Stripfing coach Emin Sulimani as uncertainty over his future continues.

The 28-year-old centre-back joined from Red Bull Salzburg for £11 million in January 2023, but has made only 28 appearances. He spent last season on loan at Werder Bremen.

Injuries and fitness issues limited him to just four outings, and Bremen chose not to take up an option to buy. He also missed selection for Austria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup squad.

"The conditions here are ideal for me. The team training makes all the difference," he told NÖN.

Wober is using the Younion professional camp to stay match ready, a programme designed to keep unattached or transitioning players fit with collective workloads that individual sessions rarely replicate.

He remains under contract at Elland Road until 2027. Leeds United are scheduled to report back to Thorp Arch for official pre-season training on Monday, 13 July. His current regime suggests he is determined to return in peak condition.
