Kylian Mbappé has eased fears at Valdebebas, returning to full training with the group after two days indoors. There is no injury and he is set to be in the squad to face Real Sociedad, with a start in contention.
According to AS, he spent Wednesday and Thursday in the gym while staff managed discomfort in his left knee following a sprain sustained on 7 December against Celta. The precautionary rest followed issues that had already ruled him out of the City match and virtually all of the Spanish Super Cup.
Friday's session proved decisive, Mbappé joined the warm-up and rondos and reported he felt good. He has been given the green light to play on Saturday against Real Sociedad.
The day also brought Asencio back after a bout of flu, he is available. With suspension ruling him out of Lisbon, he will play on Saturday, in principle with Huijsen.
Arbeloa has almost a full squad. The only absentees are Militao, a tear in the left biceps femoris with proximal tendon involvement, Bellingham, a tear in the left semitendinosus, and Rodrygo, tendinosis in the right hamstring.
Few academy players are expected in the list, with Castilla playing Bilbao Athletic at the Di Stéfano at 21:15 tonight. David Jiménez, a starter in Mestalla, did not train. Álvaro González, Mestre, Cestero, Palacios and Álvaro Ginés did, and they are candidates for the squad.
