Memphis Depay returned to training with Corinthians on Tuesday morning after agreeing a new deal, and could feature against Rosario Central in the Conmebol Libertadores last 16 on Thursday. According to Globo.com, the forward reported to CT Joaquim Grava as the club work to finalise registration.

On Monday night the club’s advisory council approved the renewal, leaving president Osmar Stabile poised to sign the paperwork in the coming hours.

Memphis arrived at the training ground at 09:07 and is set to work with the ball. Corinthians are racing to lodge his registration in the CBF’s BID before the game at Neo Química Arena.

His work visa runs until 22 August and only CBF clearance remains. Once the new contract is processed, the club will assist in extending his documentation.

Despite more than 50 days without a match, he is due to take part in the next two sessions and be available to Fernando Diniz. He is likely to start on the bench and play roughly 30 to 45 minutes.

He has not played since 25 June, when he featured for the Netherlands at the World Cup, and has not trained on grass since their elimination, though his camp believe he is in good shape for the decisive tie. During the break he worked with fitness coach Diego Pereira, part of Ramón Díaz’s staff, and is expected to continue under his guidance.

The number 10 has made 14 appearances this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
