Memphis Depay will stay at Corinthians after a club U-turn, signing a new two-year deal to 2028. The agreement between all parties was confirmed on Monday.

It follows a row after the São Paulo side announced his non-renewal for financial reasons. The player said on Instagram that promises had not been honoured and that he would challenge what he called unacceptable behaviour.

He accepted a reduction in his salary demands to make the deal possible.

Depay, 32, joined Corinthians in 2024 and has made 79 appearances for the club.

He has scored 20 goals and provided 15 assists, and is the Netherlands national team’s all-time leading scorer.
