Osmar Stabile, the Corinthians president, confirmed on Monday night that Memphis Depay will renew his contract, with the signing due within hours. The new agreement runs until mid-2028.
The 32-year-old is expected at CT Joaquim Grava on Tuesday morning to be reintegrated into Fernando Diniz's squad.
The documentation is being uploaded to the system, with the signature to follow once processed. Depay has accepted a significant salary reduction, and the terms are now considered payable after legal, administrative and financial checks.
His comments came after the club's Conselho de Orientação, Cori, approved the new deal in a meeting at Parque São Jorge on Monday. The final call rested with the president, who revived talks after initially ending them and sought to share responsibility with the body.
He reopened negotiations having earlier issued a note stating he would not sign the new contract, citing financial responsibility. Under pressure from supporters and after receiving threats, he backtracked and pursued a reduction of around R$ 30 million, which the player accepted.
