Memphis Depay’s new two-year Corinthians contract will cost R$ 135 million after the forward accepted a pay cut and removed bonuses and perks. The deal runs until 31 July 2028.
According to Globo.com, the Dutchman will receive about R$ 103.7 million in fixed amounts. That includes R$ 54 million net in salaries and image rights over 24 months, R$ 42 million to settle a net debt, and R$ 7.7 million in marketing.
The debt will be paid in four semi-annual instalments of R$ 10.5 million from January 2027. For the club, salaries and image rights including taxes and charges add up to R$ 79 million, and the financial operation to clear the first-contract debt costs R$ 56 million.
Memphis cut his marketing fee from R$ 15.4 million to R$ 7.7 million and gave up a R$ 250,000 monthly allowance that would have totalled R$ 6 million. The R$ 7.7 million marketing amount is expected to be covered by partner sponsors, who would exploit his image, but if that funding is not secured the club must pay it.
The finance department had calculated the total debt at R$ 77 million, a figure Memphis agreed to reduce. The new deal scraps appearance and goal bonuses and removes controversial benefits such as a R$ 250,000 housing arrangement. However, he can still earn extras for titles, including 20% of the master sponsor’s prize to the club, currently Esportes da Sorte, plus the customary team performance bonuses.
