Memphis Depay missed Corinthians’ return to training on Tuesday, with pain in his left ankle, and Gabriel Paulista and Raniele were also absent. ge.globo reports that the forward sat out the session at CT Joaquim Grava.
The issue arose during Sunday’s clássico against Santos at Neo Química Arena, when a Luan Peres clearance struck his left foot early in the second half. He landed awkwardly, received treatment, then completed the match.
Fernando Diniz’s staff managed workloads for Gabriel Paulista and Raniele. None of the three is viewed as a concern for the remainder of the season, and the latter pair will be suspended against Chapecoense on Sunday.
André Luiz and Yuri Alberto continued indoor rehab with grade two injuries to the right hamstring. Yuri Alberto had been considered for a derby return but was held back. André Ramalho remains out with labyrinthitis, as do Zakaria Labyad, Kayke and Vitinho, with no return date.
Goalkeeper Hugo Souza will also miss Chapecoense through suspension after an accumulation of yellow cards. In better news, midfielders André Carrillo and Jesse Lingard, absent from the derby due to load management and flu respectively, rejoined work on the pitch.
Corinthians have four more sessions before facing Chapecoense at 19:30 on Sunday at Neo Química Arena, in the 26th round of the Brasileirão. They are on a run of three straight defeats and sit 10th on 32 points.
