FC Metz are in talks to sign OGC Nice goalkeeper Maxime Dupé (32), according to a report from L’Equipe.

Dupé was brought in as a backup to Marcin Bulka. As a result, he has featured rarely since joining in January 2024 (five appearances in all competitions). Bulka is expected to leave Nice this summer and Dupé could join him.

Metz, recently promoted back to Ligue 1 thanks to their win over Stade de Reims in the relegation/ promotion play-off, are in the market for a new No.1. With Nice also looking at RC Strasbourg Alsace’s Robin Risser, Dupé’s spot as No.2 is in question and so Le Gym are open to the experience French goalkeeper leaving the club.

Metz have therefore opened talks, following the departure of their goalkeeper, Arnaud Bodart, who had wanted to remain at the club, having signed a short-term deal earlier this year. Dupé’s contract at Nice expires at the end of next season. As a result, Les Grenats, who will be looking to secure their safety in Ligue 1 next season, will look to sign the experienced shot-stopper on the cheap.
