Lazio look set to miss out on Shamrock Rovers teenager Michael Noonan, who has agreed to join Nottingham Forest once he becomes a free agent in December, as reported by the BBC.

La Lazio Siamo Noi reports that the 18-year-old striker had been on Lazio’s radar and is due to leave Shamrock Rovers when his contract expires at the end of November.

The Ireland U21 forward has been a regular starter for the Irish champions this season, scoring eight goals in 35 appearances.

Despite a net-zero mandate, Lazio’s summer was busy, with seven first-team additions, Alfonso Pedraza, Danilho Doekhi, Davide Frattesi, Josip Sutalo, Andrea Pinamonti, Albert Gudmundsson and Diogo Leite, plus youngster Bruno Galassi. The hierarchy are seemingly targeting further free transfers, anticipating a transfer ban by January due to unbalanced accounts.

While Noonan will not be heading to Formello, the club’s pursuit of free agents could bring movement in the coming days and weeks.
