Micky Gray believes Ladislav Krejci’s performances could draw top-flight attention, suggesting the Wolves defender is too talented to remain in the Championship.

“Ladislav Krejci had a very good first game, obviously got himself on the score sheet.” He was speaking on talkSPORT.

Krejci was named man of the match as the Czech Republic were held by South Africa. The 27-year-old joined Wolves on loan from Girona last summer, and despite relegation the club triggered an option to buy for around £26m to make the move permanent.

“A lot of talk about him maybe leaving. I know he was on loan at Wolves last season, but he's a talented centre-half and I'm sure there's a lot of Premier League sides to be keeping an eye on how he performs in these games.”

Commentator Ian Danter questioned whether he would stay in the Championship, prompting Gray’s response: “I don't know. He's got too much talent, hasn't he?” Danter suggested he enjoyed his time at Wolves but that bigger opportunities may await, adding that a World Cup is an ideal stage to show them.

Reports have linked Krejci with Leeds United and Besiktas this summer.
