Didier Deschamps has announced that it is Mike Maignan who will captain France against Iceland on Monday.

France’s usual captain, Kylian Mbappé, will miss the encounter. Despite suffering a minor ankle injury during Real Madrid’s final match before the international break, Mbappé featured against Azerbaijan on Friday night.

It has been confirmed that he will miss France’s World Cup qualifier against Iceland on Monday night. When he was replaced during the 3-0 win over Azerbaijan, it was Maignan who inherited the armband.
