Milan may have earmarked Morten Hjulmand and Francisco Trincao after appointing Ruben Amorim, but they never started negotiating to sign them. They are most likely headed elsewhere.

According to A Bola, Atletico Madrid have been pursuing the midfielder with great insistence. Los Colchoneros intend to seal the deal quickly and are preparing a potentially decisive bumper offer up to €40M after their previous one were turned down.

While Hjulmand is close to transferring to Spain, Trincao could soon move to Saudi Arabia, while Milan are considering different options. Per Fabrizio Romano (via Tribuna), Al Ahli have tendered €50M for the winger. Sporting CP are oriented to take the offer.

If that were the case, the newcomer would replace Riyad Mahrez, whose contract was terminated early a few days ago. His entourage will offer the free-agent forward to Serie A outfits too.

In the meantime, the Rossoneri tabled their first offer for Mario Gila through his agent. However, president Claudio Lotito is driving a hard bargain, Alfredo Pedullà reports.
