L’Équipe reports that Mahamadou Diawara, 21, is joining Ligue 2 side Red Star on loan, with an option to buy worth one and a half million euros, after limited minutes at Olympique Lyonnais.

Diawara arrived from PSG in 2023 on a free transfer and is under contract at OL until June 2028, but he has not established himself.

He spent time on loan at Le Havre, making 15 appearances with one assist, then moved to Royal Antwerp last season, featuring nine times. He still does not figure in Paulo Fonseca’s plans.

The Paris side will take him with OL covering 40% of his wages during the loan. His medical is scheduled for Tuesday.

With the window closing, other players who are not in the Portuguese coach’s plans should follow.
