AS Monaco have set their price for Folarin Balogun, with Everton pushing to sign the striker. BBC Sport understands the Ligue 1 side want £40m for the 25-year-old.

Balogun lit up Ligue 1 last season but has yet to play this term. He featured at the FIFA World Cup despite a minor injury, and remains in recovery.

He was in the stands at Stade Louis II on Sunday as Monaco beat Olympique de Marseille 2-0. Paris Brunner scored both goals and appears the heir apparent.

Monaco have been open to a sale this season and the striker is keen to move. Interest has come from across Europe, yet no agreement has been reached.

With the deadline approaching, Everton are pressing hardest. They believe a deal can be done at a significantly lower price than £40m.
