Monaco in talks to sell Aleksandr Golovin | OneFootball

AS Monaco are in talks to sell Aleksandr Golovin (30), according to a report from Foot Mercato. Having arrived for €30m back in 2018, the Russia international is the longest-serving player in the Principality club’s squad.

Having played 267 times for Les Monégasques since his move eight years ago, Golovin could now be set to depart. As per Foot Mercato, the Principality club are in talks with Russian and Saudi Arabian clubs regarding a permanent transfer for the playmaker. 

The identities of the Saudi clubs in talks to sign the Russian have not been revealed, but in his homeland, Zenit St. Petersburg are one of the clubs who are pushing to repatriate the attacking midfielder. A fee of around €25m is being discussed.

It would represent a welcome sale for Monaco, who need to raise funds in player sales this summer, whilst also decreasing the wage bill. Golovin is one of Monaco’s biggest earners.
