AS Monaco endured their heaviest European defeat at Real Madrid’s Bernabéu, increasing scrutiny on manager Sébastien Pocognoli.
According to Get French Football News, he addressed his future in a post-match press conference.
The loss came days after a Ligue 1 setback against FC Lorient. It was Monaco’s seventh defeat in their last eight league games, the worst run in the club’s history.
Pocognoli said he remains calm about his position, arguing that his preparation has always aimed to implement a positive style. While results have not followed, he maintained the group are giving their maximum.
He accepted the results are difficult, added that he believes results will come at some point and hopes that happens with him. He said the decision on his future is not his, and that he would not change his approach so far, arguing that doing things differently would have made the situation even more difficult.
