AS Monaco will welcome Mohammed Salisu back to the fold after Ghana were dumped out of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), however, Adi Hütter could be without Folarin Balogun.
Salisu, fresh from Ghana’s AFCON exit, is set to be thrown straight back into the starting XI when Monaco face Olympique de Marseille on Saturday evening. Who he will partner in defence remains a question. Denis Zakaria could be placed back in the defence in order to counter Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s pace, or Hütter may favour Guillermo Maripán’s experience in what promises to be a hostile environment at the Vélodrome.
Chrislain Matsima will also be present in the group to face Marseille, despite being heavily linked with a loan to Clermont Foot, whilst Eliesse Ben Seghir will also be part of the squad that travels down the Mediterranean coast. The France youth international has sufficiently recovered from his shoulder injury.
However, Balogun has suffered a shoulder injury of his own and is a doubt to face OM. The USMNT forward suffered the injury against Rodez last week and he did not train with the group on Friday.
