Monaco predicted XI v Pafos: Denis Zakaria back, Krépin Diatta ineligible

Krépin Diatta has ceded his place in the AS Monaco UEFA Champions League squad ahead of Wednesday night’s game against Pafos. He has been dropped in favour of a return for club captain Denis Zakaria.

Diatta profited from the introduction of a new rule, allowing him to replace the injured Zakaria in the UCL squad, having been omitted from the initial squad. But the Swiss midfielder has returned to fitness and is expected to start in Pafos.

Folarin Balogun, who missed the weekend defeat due to suspension, is expected to start for Monaco. Ansu Fati may only be good enough for a place on the bench, whilst Sébastien Pocognoli is without Eric Dier and Christian Mawissa due to injury. Jordan Teze, as a result, may be favoured in an unfamiliar role in the centre of defence.
