Paul Pogba (32) won’t feature for AS Monaco in the knock-out phase of the Champions League, L’Equipe understands. The former Manchester United midfielder is out of the club’s list that Les Monégasques will send to the UEFA. Pogba is currently nursing a calf injury. AS Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro reportedly said that the France international’s rehabilitation process was still underway, but no return date has been identified thus far.
Pogba’s debut season in Ligue 1 has been underwhelming, to say the least. His campaign has been marred by false dawns and frequent injuries keeping him on the sidelines. He only featured three times for the Principality club.
Takumi Minamino and Mohammed Salisu are also out of Monaco’s Champions League list, although their absence was expected given they both sustained an ACL injury. Krépin Diatta and winter signings Wout Faes and Simon Adingra have been added to the list. Monaco will face title holders PSG in the Champions League play-off rounds this month. Les Monégasques host RC Strasbourg on Thursday in the Coupe de France RO16.
