Christian Mawissa (20) had only just returned to the fold for AS Monaco, however, the France youth international is now set for another period on the sidelines, according to a report from L’Équipe.

Mawissa returned to action just over a week ago, coming off the bench for Monaco during their 0-0 draw against Tottenham Hotspur. His return came following an absence of around one month after he suffered a hamstring injury towards the end of September.

He aggravated that injury during Wednesday’s 5-3 win over FC Nantes. Mawissa came off in the 69th minute in that game and will now not feature again before the upcoming international break. L’Équipe understands that he will be out for around four weeks.

It is a blow for Monaco and Sébastien Pocognoli, who are now short of numbers in defence. Pocognoli will hope that Caio Henrique will be fit enough to return this weekend. The Brazilian has missed the last two games with a minor foot injury. Eric Dier could also return within the next fortnight.
