Monaco’s Yann Lienard joins Cercle Brugge on season-long loan | OneFootball

AS Monaco goalkeeper Yann Lienard, 23, has joined Cercle Brugge on a straight loan until the end of the season. The move was confirmed on Thursday.

According to Get French Football News, the agreement contains no buy option. Lienard, a France U20 international, has made only one senior appearance for Monaco.

His route to minutes is blocked, with Lukas Hradecky the undisputed No.1 and Philipp Kohn an experienced deputy.

At the start of the summer, options were explored to secure him first-team football, which was viewed as necessary at his age. He recently extended his Monaco contract to 2028.

Cercle Brugge are Monaco’s partner club, with both owned by Dmitry Rybolovlev. The loan keeps the goalkeeper within the same ownership structure.

At Cercle Brugge, Lienard will link up with fellow Monaco loanees Valy Konaté and Lucas Michal.
