Monaco’s Paris Brunner given two-game ban over Strasbourg celebration | OneFootball

Monaco forward Paris Brunner has been handed a four-match suspension with two games suspended for a throat-slicing celebration at RC Strasbourg Alsace, the LFP confirmed on Wednesday. He will therefore serve a two-game ban.

The gesture followed his equaliser in a 1-1 draw away to Strasbourg. He celebrated in front of the home Kop, then mimicked a throat-slit as he returned to the centre circle.

The 20-year-old apologised and said insults from the crowd were a mitigating factor. After scoring in a 2-1 win over RC Lens last Friday, he appeared to apologise again in his celebration.

Brunner has started the season strongly with six goals in his first seven games, including four in Ligue 1.

He will miss games against Toulouse FC and FC Lorient. He has been called up to Germany’s U21 squad for the first time.
