Montpellier HSC are a team in crisis and look likely to be embroiled in a relegation battle throughout the campaign. Injuries to key players won’t help them, but that is what they must contend with when Olympique de Marseille visit on Sunday night.
There are long-term absentees such as Christopher Jullien and Kiki Kouyaté, none of whom will play before 2025. With Modibo Sagnan suspended, Michel Der Zakarian has just one central defender at his disposal. There are also injuries to key players Khalil Fayad and Musa Al-Taamari, further limiting this struggling Montpellier side.
Benjamin Lecomte, dropped as Der Zakarian looked to spark a reaction, looks to set to retake his place between the sticks with Dimitry Bertaud returning to the bench against Marseille.
