Mouctar Diakhaby returns to Valencia training as Aguirre era begins | OneFootball

On the morning Valencia named Javier Aguirre as head coach, training at Paterna delivered a lift as Mouctar Diakhaby rejoined group work with the squad.

According to Superdeporte, the Guinea centre-back has been recovering from a long adductor injury. He started Wednesday’s session with the group and is into the final stretch of his recovery.

The extended international break now looks crucial for a squad repeatedly hit by injuries. Aguirre and his staff have conditioning work to do and will also welcome back players who could be important.

The break will almost certainly bring back three of the four centre-backs. César Tárrega, José Copete and Diakhaby will join Justin De Haas and Pepelu to complete the centre-back group.

With the winter window approaching, there could be movement in defence, especially if those players are unable to rediscover their best level under Aguirre.
