Moussa Yeo is leaving FC Red Bull Salzburg to join Welsh club Swansea City, who compete in the second tier of English football.
It is four years since the 22-year-old attacker arrived here in Salzburg from his homeland. Yeo started out as a feeder player for FC Liefering, where he registered six goals and four assists in 33 matches. During this period, he also featured for our UEFA Youth League side (6 appearances, 1 goal).
At the start of the 2024/25 season, the Malian stepped up to our first-team squad, going on to make 70 appearances (9 goals, 7 assists). Moussa Yeo will now continue his career in Wales with the side that finished 11th in the Championship last season.
I think now is a good time for Moussa to make a move. He has developed well during his years with us here in Salzburg, and it was time for his next step. He has chosen to move to the English second tier, and we wish him all the best and every success for the future!
Marcus Mann, Managing Director of Sport
I am very grateful to FC Red Bull Salzburg for the opportunities I’ve had during my four years here. In this time, I’ve been able to prove myself and learn a great deal, both as an footballer and as a person. However, I feel that now is the right time for a new, different club. That is why I am saying goodbye and heading to Wales with plenty of wonderful memories.
