Cardiff to host Women’s Champions League final as UEFA reveal 2028 and 2029 venues

Cardiff has been selected to host the UEFA Women’s Champions League final in 2029.

The Millenium Stadium, now referred to as the Principality Stadium for sponsorship reasons, will be the venue for the showpiece event.

It will be the second time the 74,000-capacity ground plays host to a Champions League final after the 2017 men’s decider between Real Madrid and Juventus, which was won by the Spanish club. The 2028 final will be played at Lyon’s Parc Olympique Lyonnais.

The UEFA Executive Committee also appointed the hosts of several finals at a meeting in Thessaloniki in Greece on Tuesday, including the 2028 and 2029 men’s Champions League finals.

The 2028 edition will take place at the Allianz Arena in Munich, while Barcelona‘s new Camp Nou will host the final for the first time since its revamp the following year.

Bayern‘s home stadium has hosted the final twice previously in 2012 and 2025, while Barcelona last did so in 1999 when Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United won the competition for a second time in their history.

Meanwhile, UEFA also decided that the 2028 and 2029 UEFA Europa League finals will be hosted by Bucharest, Romania and Belgrade, Serbia respectively.

Juventus‘ Allianz Stadium will host the UEFA Conference League final in 2028 and the following year’s final will be take place at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.

Next year’s UEFA Super Cup will be played at Ajax‘s Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam, while the 2028 edition will be taken all the way to Kazakhstan, with the final between the Champions League and Europa League winners taking place at the Astana Arena.
