Nacho backs Cristiano Ronaldo to reach 1,000 goals | OneFootball

Nacho has backed Cristiano Ronaldo to reach 1,000 career goals. The Spaniard says his former Real Madrid team-mate remains driven by records.

Ronaldo is 24 short of four figures after extending his prolific form in the Saudi Pro League. The 41-year-old continues to score freely for the Riyadh club.

"He won't stop, for sure, knowing him as we know him... His life is about breaking records, which is incredible, it seems like no, no, no, and in the end he achieves everything he sets out to do," he said, speaking to AS.

The pair won La Liga, the Copa del Rey and four Champions League titles together at Real Madrid. They now share a league again after Nacho joined Al Qadisiyah in 2024 and Al Nassr won the Saudi Pro League last season.

"He won't stop until he reaches 1,000 goals," Nacho insisted. "In these last years, I have played against him and it's incredible, the ability he has to wake up every morning and continue to compete."

Ronaldo scored 30 in all competitions for Al Nassr last season and finished as the league's top scorer in 2023-24 and 2024-25. His Riyadh tally stands at 123 goals in 142 games across all competitions.
