Whilst Folarin Balogun looks set to depart, another striker is nearing an exit from AS Monaco, as per a report from Sacha Tavolieri.
Oumar Konaté (19), who impressed for Monaco in pre-season and has gone on to make two substitute appearances for the first team could join Ligue 2 club FC Nantes before the closure of the transfer window.
The Ivorian striker is highly rated at Monaco, but even despite Balogun’s expected departure, first-team opportunities may be limited. Filipe Luís is likely to start with just one striker. In their ranks, the Principality club have Matthis Abline, Paris Brunner, and Mika Biereth. Brunner in particular has had a strong start to the season.
A move to the Beaujoire on loan may, therefore, be in the offing for Konaté, who is open to the move, Tavolieri understands. Nantes have until the closure of the transfer window on Tuesday evening to wrap up a deal.
