After three alarming defeats to open Ligue two, Nantes appointed Grégory Poirier on Tuesday to replace Michel Der Zakarian. The change comes amid a turbulent transfer window and before Saturday's trip to Guingamp at 20:00.
According to L'Équipe, Der Zakarian, twice the coach who led Nantes up to Ligue one in 2008 and 2013, did not make it beyond August this time.
He had returned in June to a club relegated to Ligue two following the end of Vahid Halilhodzic’s short spell.
Der Zakarian was removed on Monday after only three matchdays, the last a heavy 2-5 reverse to Rodez at La Beaujoire.
Nantes produced a good first half in that game, then collapsed in a nightmarish second period. Poirier arrives with an urgent brief to refocus the squad.
