Tempers flared and anger boiled over in tonight’s Supercoppa Italiana semi-final between Napoli and Milan. The Partenopei won 2-0 but the match saw a number of heavy challenges and a late scrap between Fikayo Tomori and Scott McTominay.

The tension bled over to the coaches, with Antonio Conte and Massimiliano Allegri having several spats over the course of the ninety minutes.

And, at full time, Allegri quickly left the field, without so much as a handshake for his counterpart.

Tense Supercoppa ends in victory for Napoli

As far as events on the field, it was a comfortable night in the end for Conte and Napoli.

David Neres put Conte’s side up in the first half, after a nice piece of play by Rasmus Hojlund and some sloppy defensive work from Milan duo Koni De Winter and Mike Maignan.

Then, in the second half, Hojlund doubled his side’s lead – once again playing the hero, less than two weeks after his brace in Napoli’s win over Juventus.
