National League Cup Preview: Boreham Wood vs Leeds United U21s | OneFootball

Leeds United Under-21s will begin their National League Cup campaign on Tuesday evening as they face Boreham Wood away from home.

The Group C curtain raiser pits the competition’s only ever two winners against one another. Scott Gardner’s side lifted the trophy in its inaugural year two seasons ago, before the Hertfordshire outfit were victorious in March.

The Whites will also travel to Solihull Moors, Tamworth and Hartlepool United aiming to finish in the top two of the group to reach the knockout stages.

Leeds began their season last weekend with a goalless draw against Stoke City U21s in the Premier League Cup and start their league campaign on Sunday when they host West Bromwich Albion U21s in the PL2.

After finishing fourth last season in the Enterprise National League, Boreham Wood reached the Play-Off Final where they lost out to Rochdale on penalties at Wembley.

Luke Garrard’s team are unbeaten in the opening two fifth tier fixtures this time around, beginning with a 3-3 draw on home soil against Tamworth before earning a 3-1 victory at FC Halifax Town at the weekend.

Action from the Mangata Developments Stadium Meadow Park gets underway at 7pm.
