Real Sociedad’s push to stock Sanse with talent has brought mixed results, with Kita a standout so far, though the step to the senior side remains the toughest.

According to Diario Vasco, La Real had strong reports on Kita, agreed a loan with a one and a half million euro option, and his first season has been excellent.

The most prominent case is Robert Navarro, who joined from Monaco for Sanse. La Real paid one and a half million euros, with add-ons up to six million, and the final figure was not revealed. He reached the first team but left for Mallorca for 850,000 euros after limited minutes, aside from a good Copa spell under Imanol.

In the promotion year under Xabi Alonso, Sanse took Cristo Romero and Germán Valera on loan, and Valera is now at Elche in Primera División.

Around half a million euros went on Slovak holding midfielder Pokorny, who did not make an impact under Xabi Alonso, and La Real recovered little of that outlay. Sydney Osazuwa arrived from Leganés as a Spain youth standout, then left in the winter window on loan to AZ Alkmaar, who have an option to buy.

While nurturing Zubieta, the club are widening their search, including Japan. They are tracking a 16-year-old Japanese talent. FIFA rules mean he cannot join internationally from outside the EU until he turns 18, when Real could assess a move.
