Real Sociedad are working against the clock to reinforce three positions before the first of September, with Pellegrino Matarazzo overseeing the push. The club want a centre-back, an attacking player and a right-back.

A late move for Nayef Aguerd collapsed due to physical issues, and exits have thinned the defence. According to Rádio Itatiaia, Real executives travelled to Belo Horizonte to pursue 22-year-old Jonathan Jesus, after a 13 million euro offer was rejected, with Cruzeiro seeking about 20 million.

The backline has been further depleted by Aritz Elustondo’s departure at contract end, Duje Caleta-Car’s option not being exercised, Javi López joining Feyenoord on loan with a purchase option, and Iñaki Rupérez set to play for Sanse this season.

With Álvaro Odriozola still sidelined, Jon Aramburu is the main option on the right. Héctor Fort of Barcelona remains under consideration for his versatility, though the Catalan club also have a proposal from Borussia Dortmund and Premier League interest, and he currently appears closer to the German side.

In attack, the Gipuzkoan club are evaluating options including Fabio Silva, Gonzalo Plata and Marc Guiu.

On Friday, president Jokin Aperribay and sporting director Erik Bretos did not travel to Sevilla for the league opener against Betis at La Cartuja, as they worked on closing some of the deals in progress.
