Only a few weeks ago, Olympique de Marseille striker Neal Maupay was seen training separately from the first team, running laps of a separate pitch at OM’s Commanderie training ground. But Roberto De Zerbi has today said that the Frenchman could feature on the bench for Les Phocéens against Stade Brestois this weekend, at a press conference attended by Get French Football News.“For the moment, Emerson is availible, Timothy Weah was training yesterday. […] Neal Maupay might make the bench,” said the Italian at Marseille’s training ground on Friday afternoon. “I see him better physically, he is more positive. We will see after training [today]. I don’t know whether he will play and how he will play.”Neal Maupay hasn’t played for Marseille’s first team since the end of last season, but featured for the reserve side last week – scoring a penalty in National 3 to claim a victory for Marseille’s Minots. With Amine Gouiri out injured amongst OM’s growing list of absentees, there has been only Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and youngster Robinio Vaz available in the forward attacking positions.
