Neco Williams apologised to his Nottingham Forest teammates after his red card against Crystal Palace, Morgan Gibbs-White said.
"It felt like we could have taken all three today." he told Sky Sports.
Gibbs-White put Forest ahead early at the City Ground. Just before the break, Williams handled on the line as he cleared a Jefferson Lerma header. Ismaila Sarr smashed in the penalty for 1-1.
"It was Neco's natural instinct and he apologised to us all. It's not his fault."
"The gaffer said we have to stick together, run together and work as a team. To stay defensive and then go for the attack."
"We did that perfectly. We have to keep looking forward and that won't change but we have to be mindful."
The draw kept Forest six points above the Premier League bottom three, with Palace three points further ahead.
